This camp is licensed by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and is inspected twice yearly. The inspection reports are filed at the Bureau of Food Safety and Community Sanitation.
The New Adventures Day Camp is celebrating our fifteenth year of operation! The guiding philosophy of our camp continues to be that all children, provided with a safe and nurturing environment, will flourish by exploring the rich and unique opportunities New York City and the tri-state region have to offer. Our camp is located at PS 222 at 3301 Quentin Road in Marine Park, Brooklyn. Our facility includes a special children’s playground, gymnasium, a classroom for arts and crafts and a large lunchroom for games and other activities. All swimming (instructional and recreational) will take place at Paedergat Swim Club as well as the pool at Jones Beach. This summer, we will again offer a quality gymnastics experience at the Brooklyn Gymnastics Center. In addition to utilizing Marine Park, we will take advantage of the many resources of the New York metropolitan area through a variety of day trips. For our older campers, we offer overnight trips to Boston, Lake George and Club Getaway in Kent, Connecticut.
While we are focused on the needs of our campers, we are also well aware of the daily issues facing working parents. Due to the continuing economic downturn, camp fees have remained the same for the last three years. We have created a schedule that is flexible for parents with the option of selecting from two to eight week sessions and three to five days per week.
The New Adventures Day Camp offers three different choices for your child based on his/her grade in September, 2012. Pathfinders (entering grades K to Four), Voyagers (entering grades Five and Six) and Teen Trek (entering grades Seven to Nine). Please look through the brochure to find out more about each program. We request that all parents provide an email address so the camp can communicate with you. Parents are also encouraged to use our website for filling out forms. Our office is always available to answer any questions you may have and you can reach us at 718/965-4757. We look forward to a working together with you to create a wonderful summer for your child!
Sincerely,
Richard Smuckler, M.S.W.
